Description
Basic Beliefs – A Primer of Christian Doctrine was written by Ann Thomas and originally published by Aglow in 1974.
What is the only source of accurate information about God, about Christ or about any spiritual or moral matter? What one volume if it could have been destroyed would have left mankind to a life of desperately hopeful philosophies, fanciful dreams, doubts and fears? The answer to both questions is the same: the Bible. There is no other textbook about God and His relationship to people. It is the only written basis for Christianity. The Bible is humanity’s handbook of faith and doctrine and as such, is sufficient to combat all doubts and gears. When illuminated by the Holy Spirit, it is the infallible guide to living fully on earth, and gives the true picture of life to come. The Scriptures were given to men by God, have been preserved through the centuries by God and are at present the written words of God to the twentieth century.
The men who God used to write the various books, which combine to make what is known as the Bible, were moved by the Holy Spirit to write exactly what was revealed to them by God. Some of the writers were historians, some were poets or prophets, some were professional men such as doctors, shepherds or scholars. All of them were used as a means of putting into words the spiritual truths of God.
